Temple officials became aware of a social media post advertising a "meet-up" near Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue around 5 p.m., campus police said in a release.

"Early on, the group of juveniles was orderly," but several fights broke out, authorities said. While Temple, city, and SEPTA police worked to break up the crowd, officials said a gunshot was fired near Park and Cecil B. Moore avenues just before 6 p.m.

The rest of the group dispersed by around 7 p.m., according to police. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, they added.

Investigators believe one person fired a gun into the air two times during the incident. Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call Temple University police at 215-204-1234.
